Nakita & Rob wanted to embrace and encompass their favourite City Melbourne into their day as much as possible.
In their first email to me Nakita told me about their love of fashion and the moody ‘editorial’ style photos, I couldn't wait to capture their portraits around the streets of South Melbourne.

TELL ME ABOUT YOUR THE BEGINNING!
This little adventure started 10 years ago 2012. We met as friends as our mates Lisa and Eric started dating and so we all started to hang out. Weekly visits to Melbournes best clubs, stomping the floor and having a boogie. We became really close and started hanging out all the time, until one night ( robs bday), again at a club, our friendship got out of the friend zone and we decided to give this thing a crack! First dates were china bar and drive ins haha, how things have changed
WHEN AND WHERE DID YOU GET ENGAGED?
We got engaged in Byron bay Feb 2022, after 9 years of dating. All our friends and family say that every holiday we went on they were waiting for it, but I didn't expect anything as it was my bday 2 weeks before and thought we were celebrating my bday. The morning of, we were going to go for a walk but rob said he had organised something and for me to close my eyes. We were staying on a property that was on huge farm land and had organised a picnic on top of the hill, completely excluded from everyone ( exactly what I would have wanted ) and there he proposed. We just chilled on top of the hill with the cows in the distance watching us, drinking champagne and listening to music.
HOW DO YOU ENVISION YOUR WEDDING DAY?
When we think of our wedding day, we think of smiles all around! All our family and friends coming together and genuine happiness, dancing, laughing and having a fun time. No chaos, Hopefully no tears from the bride but tears from the groom hopefully haha. Care free and LOVING LIFE
WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST ON YOUR WEDDING DAY?
Meeting Rob at the end of the aisle for the first time and giving him a big hug!!! Dancing, dancing and more dancing. We also can't wait to hear the speeches
TOP TIPS?
Honestly don't stress. Easier said than done, but if you work as a team and tick things off together its really not hair or stressful. Being organised at the start is a game changer because then everything just flows and isn't that difficult at all. Theres so much pressure with wedding planing but we didn't feel any of it, as we pretty much did things ourselves without getting others ( parents) involved. Which can be hard but you just gotta keep them in the loop and get them to trust you / trust the process.
"Dont even know where to begin with Maegan. Before we even had our first meeting with her, we knew she would be our girl! Maegan has provided the best service that we've ever received in any kind of industry, especially the wedding industry.
Her talent, skills and energy scale further than her photography. She is so extremely prepared and prompt with her emails and providing excellent customer service. Her detailed emails during the lead up to our wedding helped us with timelines, what to expect from her before hand and on the day, and what to expect and prepare for with other vendors.
She made us feel so comfortable and excited EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. Whenever we emailed, we'd get a response within that business day, and we know how busy she is. Any suggestion or idea that we had, she was able to work with and make us feel at ease.
Her vibe and presence on our wedding day was second to none. Our families, bridal party and guests have all commented on what a fun, glowing and active attitude Maegan has. We are so lucky to have come across Maegan on instagram and chosen her to be our wedding photographer. The end result photos are the best that we have seen and we cannot thank her enough! Cannot stop looking at them over and over again. Did I mention that close to everyone around us has commented on how great these photos have turned out. Once again thank you Maegan for being you and shining your bright light!
