Natalie & Chris’ wedding was a celebration of love, culture, and connection at the gorgeous Stones of the Yarra Valley.
Personal Elements That Made the Day Unique
Every detail of Natalie and Chris’ wedding was thoughtfully considered and as a result made their day so special and unique.
Natalie crafted her beautiful wedding veil and wedding dress herself drawing inspiration from Dana Harel Design and Kim Kassas Couture. Her three piece set featured a peach nude tulle corseted mini dress and an ivory tulle and appliqué lace overskirt and delicate bolero. To complete her bridal outfit, Natalie wore a yellow native frangipani head garland woven together by her mother bringing an element of her Kiribati background to her wedding outfit.
It was important to include their daughter, Evelyn, in as many aspects of the day as possible. The three of them stayed together the night before, cherishing those final moments together before their big day. Again the next morning, Evelyn was there, getting ready with the girls before heading over to Chris’ room to spend time with him.
A Photographer Who Felt Like Family
It was important for Natalie and Chris to find a photographer who made them feel at ease and could capture all the authentic moments throughout the day.
A heartfelt quote from Natalie
Maegan’s “images drew me in, they were alive with movement, and when I watched one of her videos dancing like a weirdo, well I sent it to my sisters straight away and said, ‘I’ve found my photographer!’ …. I honestly felt like Maegan could have been another one of my sisters (and I wish she was!). She was generous in every way. I felt so safe with her, and it was a blessing to share such a special day with not just the kindest human but the most talented photographer. She’s an artist. I look at photos from that day, and I can feel every magical moment. Her photos are pure magic!!!”
Stones of the Yarra Valley: A Serene Reception Setting
Stones of the Yarra Valley was the perfect wedding venue for Natalie and Chris because it offered everything they envisioned. From on-site accommodation and drinks at Ernie’s Bar, afterwards moving into The Stables for their intimate wedding reception. Natalie’s vision was bought to life by Sarah from Wild in Love. They created a soft, ethereal atmosphere, embracing a soft white and blush colour palette that allowed the venue’s natural beauty to shine. Their wedding felt effortless and inviting—a space where every guest could be fully present and enjoy themselves.
Traditional cultural elements were weaved in throughout their wedding reception with Kiribati and Polynesian dances throughout the night. In the welcome dance, the dancers presented important guests with handmade floral crowns. This was a beautiful way of honouring family and tradition.
